Meeting Time:
No meeting for 2024-2025
Course Description
Did you know that color additive E 120, which is the coloring agent in red skittles, comes from the crushing of the female insect cochineal?
Where do the colors we see in our products and foods come from? Where did they originally come from? How has that changed? These questions, as well as many more, will be discussed and answered in this History of Color Course.
After setting a foundation of knowledge we will then explore the creation and use of our own natural dyes through various hands-on projects.
Homework Expectation
There will be occasional research and a couple of projects throughout the semester, but nothing on a weekly basis.
