Course Description

This class will use literature and food to teach us about different cultures. One week we will read poetry and short fiction about a culture. In class, we will discuss how that culture views food, traditions, and hosting. The following week, we will share a meal featuring foods from that culture. We will also experience the eating and hosting traditions of that culture.

Homework Expectation

1-2 hours a week of reading and responding to texts.

Also, on rotation, students will be preparing food to bring to class. Students should expect to prepare a food item once a month for eating in class.
